Making the Connection Between Ecology and Theology for all Faith Traditions.

Jenna iMatterAs greenhouse gas emissions rise and the planet’s temperature increases we see increased impact on the Earth’s climate.  While the effects are clear now the young people of today will be faced with more severe climate change in their lives.  That’s why many young adults are looking to make a difference now.

OurEarthNow is a youth-led group that aims to promote awareness among society, particularly youth, and energize a movement to enact both social and environmental change through collective empowerment and action.

OurEarthNow is currently engaged in training the next generation of environmental activists through their Louisville Environmental Activist Training program.  This program is designed to teach people interested in environmental activism how to go from idea to action when it comes to creating a healthy environmental future.

OEN members have engaged the community in many ways including hosting their own rally (the iMatter March), performing acts of community service, organizing fairs about sustainability, participating in I Love Mountains Day, hosting movie screenings and discussions at local education institutions and by performing awareness building pieces at other events including Forecastle Music Festival, Might Kindness and Bluegrass Bioneers.

OEN PerformanceOurEarthNow is always looking for members to get engaged in social and environmental justice.  To get involved email OEN at and check out dates for the next bi-weekly meeting on the Kentucky IPL Event Page.

You can stay current on how OEN is engaging communities by checking out their Facebook page or following their Twitter and Tumblr streams.
