St. Paul's Episcopal Church, New Albany, IN
Toward Becoming Better Stewards of God?s Earth
Approved by the Vestry, April 20, 2009

St. Paul's has insituted the following guidelines "so that we may continue to preserve and conserve that part of God?s creation over which we have stewardship:" 1. Styrofoam products already on site may be used, but from henceforth no new Styrofoam cups, plates or bowls are to be purchased by the parish or Shepherd?s Kitchen. Accepting donated Styrofoam products is also discouraged.

2. As incandescent light bulbs burn out, they will be replaced with CF?s or LED?s, and all bulbs will be recycled whenever possible.

3. Recyclable containers for paper, plastics, aluminum and tin cans, and glass and plastic bottles will be available in all buildings.

4. Only 100% recycled paper products will be purchased for use by the office and other parish entities. All those wishing to be reimbursed for the purchase of paper products will strive to do the same.

5. When possible, all paper products will be recycled.

Rev. Polk Culpepper says, "We also updated our heating and cooling systems, added programmable thermostats, and contracted SunWindPower to insulate doors and windows and install some storm windows"
