St. Joe's Taking Steps to Care for God's Creation in Bardstown
There are many ways that the parishioners of St. Joe's are answering Pope Benedict's call "to take care of creation and to share its resources in solidarity." The elementary school recycles all paper products. The parish office recycles all plastics, aluminum cans and paper products and is striving to decrease the amount of non-recyclable Styrofoam that is used. The school recently replaced its old HVAC with a very energy-efficient heating and cooling system. The roof has been replaced on the parish office building (Flaget Hall). The religious education groups and parish staff recycle bottle caps for dialysis through a Bethlehem High School group and they pray and discuss Prayer of St. Francis periodically and include a Youtube video about creation and the Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi.
