The Environmental Club at Lexington Catholic High School (based on their mission statement) is dedicated to promoting the care and cleanliness of the earth within the school and within the community. The do this through various service projects, and also run the recycling for the school, which is picked up every Thursday.
Their most recent project is transforming the quad (the area outside the LCHS Library) into an outdoor classroom. By the spring, the Environmental Club will have created several raised beds built with herbs, fruits, vegetables, a butterfly garden, native perennials, possibly a cut flower bed, and a geologic representation of Kentucky.
