The U.S. Senate will be voting beginning on June 2 on an important global warming bill called the Lieberman-Warner Climate Security Act (S. 3036). This bill will not only reduce the global warming pollution that is already harming families around the world?it will also use the free market to generate climate solutions, and it will protect the economy from the harm that unchecked climate change will cause. There are also provisions to help the most vulnerable people in poor countries adapt to the consequences of climate change, as well as provisions to help low-income and working families in the U.S. deal with any economic consequences arising from climate change policy
Please do your part, by contacting the Senators from your state, and ask them to strengthen and pass the Lieberman-Warner Climate Security Act (S. 3036).

KIPL Director, Tim Darst, spent three days in our nation's capital at the National IPL Conference. Tim learned a lot about what other IPLs are up to and spent time lobbying for climate change legislation with Rep. John Yarmuth and Sen. Mitch McConnell's legislative assistant, Allison Thompson.
