First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Owensboro participated in the National Preach-In on Global Warming on February 14, 2010. The worship service on had a creation care theme. Rev. Patricia Hatfield, used Isaiah 55

"You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands."

and her sermon was titled "Singing Mountains, Clapping Trees". The community is involved in the Green Chalice group and is we "gearing up to form a green team and conduct an energy audit" according to Rev. Hatfield.
