EcoFaith: Creating and Sustaining Green Congregations
Eoc-Faith is a user-friendly guide for pastors, church leaders, conregations, and individuals to facilitate understanding of environmental issues as they relate to caring for the whole of God's creation.

Each chapter contains an introduction as well as extensive lists of facts, actions, and resources. There are also inspiring stories from worship communities around the country that have made the decision to go green.
Kentucky Interfaith Power and Light welcomes our latest Covenant Partner Congregation, The Church of the Ascension of Frankfort.

KIPL looks forward to working closely with the Church of the Ascension to help them in their efforts to become more engaged in the areas of creation care in general and energy efficiency in particular.

Greening West Louisville Church Awarded Grant
for Energy Improvements

Congratulations to St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church! In 2010 eleven churches participating in the Greening West Louisville Program applied for the federal Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG).  Collectively, over $300,000 dollars was requested for energy conserving projects and improvements.

St. Martin de Porres is the first church of the GWL Program to be awarded from the EECB Grant. $12,000 has been given to the congregation to install energy efficient lighting and cellulose insulation in their 44,000 square foot campus.  These energy improvements will greatly reduce the church?s carbon foot print and are expected to lower their annual energy bills by thousands of dollars.

We look forward to sharing more success stories from the EECB Grants, and their role in creation care,  as they are awarded!
