Action Alert - Protect Our Children from Attacks on EPA / Clean Air Act The recent attacks on the EPA and the Clean Air Act are cause for great concern. By blocking the agency's ability to implement critical safeguards in the continuing resolution HR 1, the U.S. House has lost touch with the concerns of the people they represent. The Solar Nun is Coming This year's Annual KIPL Dinner takes place Friday May 13 at 6:30 pm (First Unitarian Church, Louisville) and will feature special guest speaker Sr. Paula Gonzalez (a.k.a. "The Solar Nun") who will also present a workshop on "Faith and Climate Change" on May 14 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (Fourth Avenue Methodist Church, Louisville) . Mark your calendars! National Preach-In on Global Warming This year's National Preach-In on Global Warming drew participation from all 50 states with over six hundred congregations participating by offering sermons, study groups, reflections and video screenings. Kentucky's Faith Communities Showed up for I Love Mountains Day KIPL teamed up with Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church's Green Sanctuary Committee to provide bus rides to I Love Mountains Day in Frankfort this past Valentine's Day. Send information to info@kentuckyipl.org  KIPL Blog Loving God's Mountains - February 22, 2011 Leveling the Playing Field - February 26, 2011 Through the Greening West Louisville program we have completed energy audits with 13 area houses of worship (St. Luke's Missionary Baptist Church and 4th Avenue United Methodist Church being the most recent). Ten of those are included in a recently completed Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant application. We wish them good look in the grant approval process! Presently we are working to expand this program and, as a result, are looking to identify additional west Louisville congregations that may wish to participate.
